Fayetteville Online takes a look at the story of the late Mark Kraynak, who fell to his mysterious, untimely death in a quarry outside Montreal. A friend of Kraynak’s wonders if his death had anything to do with the world of strip clubs and amateur gay porn in which he had involved himself.
Kraynak and his friend were on their way to an after hours club when they disappeared and were found ten days later dead at the bottom of a quarry. The final word on their deaths is still up in the air: “A police investigation determined that Kraynak and Wright died when they fell into the quarry after fleeing a cab. Police believe the men were trying to dodge the fare, but both men were found with enough money in their pockets to pay it, according to news accounts.”
Kraynak was a soldier based at Fort Bragg who received a Purple Heart in Iraq in 2003. Fort Bragg was in the news recently after a group of paratroopers (now under investigation in a secret location) were discovered to have participated in amateur gay porn videos.
The practice of straight men doing gay porn is widespread, says Stephan Sirard, the owner of an adult entertainment agency. Kraynak was allegedly straight (“He has never had sex with another male,” Sirard declares) and so are most of the other men Sirard represents: “Sirard said gay pornography has nothing to do with sexual preference. His agency has 859 male models on its roster. Only nine are openly gay and another 10 are openly bisexual, but he said hundreds of his straight models do gay scenes.”
So, why are so many straight men, particularly soldiers, drawn to the easy money of gay porn?
“The military doesn’t pay much,” Sirard said. “Money talks. Everybody has a price.”
And those soldiers need to pay for their body armor somehow.
