One Direction’s Liam Payne is hoping to steer his public image in a new direction by appearing on the October cover of UK’s Attitude magazine.
In the accompanying interview, Payne is expected to share ” his appreciation for his LGBT fans and what the future holds for the world’s biggest boy band now they’re a four-piece.”
Accusations of homophobia have dogged the boy bander ever since he sent out a Tweet of support to Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson during the fracas over his anti-gay comments last year.

After an offhand remark at a concert last month was taken by some fans as homophobic, Payne clarified that he was “in no way shape or form homophobic.”
Last month, it was reported One Direction was planning on disbanding in March to work on “individual projects.”
