Jill Wine-Banks, a former Watergate prosecutor, told Chris Hayes that she’s got “deja vu” watching the Trump-Russia scandal unfold:
“The cover-up is worse than the crime, although in this case it may be that the crime is worse than the cover-up because the crime may be using a foreign adversary to hurt our election. That would be worse than just a break in at the DNC headquarters. So there are a lot of similarities that make me really suspicious. I believe we’ve gone beyond a smoking gun. One of my Watergate colleagues said it’s a smoking cannon. And I really believe we’re there.”
