SEISMIC ACTIVITY. 6.4 magnitude earthquake strikes Taiwan: “The earthquake struck 14 miles northeast of Pingtung City at 3:57 a.m. local time, at a depth of 6.2 miles, the USGS reported…A 17-story apartment building in Tainan collapsed during the quake, and fire officials said 123 people were rescued from the rubble, Reuters reported. Images on social media showed several buildings suffered substantial damage, including some that appeared to be tipping over after the quake struck.”

Malnourished sea lion pup wanders into San Diego restaurant: “After restaurant workers snapped some photos, they called a rescue team from SeaWorld to help the young sea lion. ‘SeaWorld came to the aid of this young sea lion this morning and she is now in the care of our amazing Rescue Team,’ SeaWorld replied to Guillas’ post…workers at SeaWorld’s Animal Rescue Center are hopeful that the pup will make a full recovery. ‘We hope to get her rehabilitated and back out into the wild,’ SeaWorld wrote. ‘She’s getting lots of fluids.'”
