Sia has come under fire from immigration activists and some of her fans for joining Donald Trump in promos for their SNL appearance on Saturday night.

Sia tweeted a photo of Trump in one of her trademark two-tone wigs, saying “Trying to give @realDonaldTrump a taste of life as a queer immigrant. Not sure it’s working..?More tomorrow!”

Fans were quick to respond, saying: “@Sia I can’t believe you’re being a part of this. Trump is a blatant racist and is against equality for women. Why would you endorse this?”

Another user, asked, “@Sia So I guess you’re okay with Trump saying those things about Mexicans. Maybe not so okay had he said them about LGBT people?”

Others had hoped Sia would pull out: “@Sia not funny, trumps’s racist & anti gay views is a serious threat to our country- was hoping u pull out of @nbcsnl in protest #DumpTrump”

A petition to drop Trump as host gathered more than half a million signatures, and Congressman Luis Gutierrez has been battling the network to stop him. But not all agree with the tactics.

Hispanic activist, actress and prominent Clinton supporter Eva Longoria told The Wrap last week:

“This is part of freedom of speech, freedom of press. He has his right — not only that, [executive producer] Lorne Michaels has a right to book whoever he wants…. We as a Hispanic community have a choice to not watch it. That’s our choice,” she continued. “That’s what we can do. That’s what you’re supposed to do. Boycott that night, and then let that show feel that ‘oh, OK we did make a bad decision.’ You cannot limit that choice to producers or a network. That’s their choice to do that. But what you can do is [say], ‘OK you made that choice, therefore we will do this.’”
