— While The New Normal is a distant memory and Looking is wrapping with a final film, the utterly charming Please Like Me continues with a third season, premiering Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern on Pivot. The quirky comedy follows Josh (played by adorable Aussie comedian and the show’s creator Josh Thomas) as he navigates dating, family and growing up as a twenty-something gay man. While Thomas’ deft handling of coming out and dating as a gay man is reason enough to check this series out, the show’s nuanced portrayal of mental illness is played with equal amounts of humor and respect. — Looking to fill the musical comedy gap Glee left behind? Try out Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, debuting tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on The CW. Starring executive producer and co-creator comedian Rachel Bloom in the titular lead role, the show blends campy comedy and fantastical musical numbers as Bloom’s character Rebecca follows her crush across the country.
— While it surely won’t be nearly as entertaining as the GOP circus, the Democrats have their chance to engage in rigorous debate and push their talking points Tuesday at the first presidential debate, 8:30 p.m. Eastern on CNN.
