I haven't thought enough about how this might feel, and today I am left struggling to find words. I am overjoyed. I am stunned. I am so very proud of my country for finally recognizing my gay and lesbian brothers and sisters in a very profound way. We have finally been granted all of the rights and privileges and the dignity that comes with marriage. Today, the Supreme Courts ruling does not just affect those gay and lesbian couples in committed relationships. It sends a powerful message to all that we are equals and that our love is valid. The fight for marriage equality is not the end goal of LGBTQ equality and we must not forget that! But it is a giant victory to be celebrated.
