Three Long island teens were charged today in a Tuesday afternoon attack in Hicksville, NY in which they beat a 14-year-old classmate on a school bus while yelling anti-gay slurs.
The Long Island Press reports:
"David Spencer, 18, of North Valley Stream and Chase Morrison, 16, of Lakeview, were each charged with assault and aggravated harassment. A third suspect, 16-year-old Roy Wilson of Baldwin, was also charged with assault but did not make disparaging remarks regarding the victim’s sexual orientation, police said. The assault allegedly took place on a bus leaving Nassau BOCES at 2:15 p.m. The victim suffered a visible bruise on his forearm and substantial pain throughout his body as a result of being stomped and kicked on his arms, legs, stomach and thigh, police said. On Wednesday morning, while on the bus to Nassau BOCES in Hicksville, Spencer and Morrison again made disparaging remarks to the victim regarding his sexual orientation while slapping the victim in the head and face, police added."
NBC New York reports that the older teens were charged as adults.
